HERMAN BRANDT NOW LEADS THE TRAINERS He Sends Twenty-two Winners to the Post at Oakland in Forty Days. During the forty days of racing from January 1 to February 15, inclusive, 990 races have been run over the tracks in California and New Orleans 273 at City Park, 24C at Crescent Park, 240 at Oakland and 240 at Ascot Park. At Crescent Park there have been three dead heats. The winners of these races have been saddled by 347 trainers 94 at City Park, SO at Oakland, 85 at Crescent Park and S2 at Ascot Park. Herman Brandt, who is training the stable of Barney Schreiber at Oakland, leads the men of his calling in all parts of the country for the number of winners sent to Ihe post in those forty days. His record is twenty-two. T. C. Dick Williams is second, with twenty fourteen at Ascot" Park and sis at Oakland. Next comes C E. Unwell with seventiH-n -fifteen at Ascot and two at Oakland.
