Ren Hodder seriously punctured Third Alarms Derby aspirations by waiting on him for six furlongs and then cantering away from him. The rest this colt was given has freshened him up and he ought to le at his best by Derby day. Jockey Bell was beaten a head on The Cure when lie should have won easily. He was trying to draw the finish fine, just as he did Saturday. Saturday lie won by a neckwhen he could as easily have made it two lengths, but today be lost by taking The Cure np just sharply enough in the last stride to let Escutcheon beat him a short head. - Bell escaped with a sharp reprimand.
