Tony Faust broke striding and established a small lead at the start, which he maintained throughout. May L. N. ran lapped on the winner to the stretch, where she lost ground by a wide turn, but came again and finished wearing the winner down fast. Menden was lucky at the start and iu forward contention to the last sixteenth, where lie tired. Tanaua finished fast. Charley Payne, badly interfered with on the turn, finished well. Start fair. Won driving; second easily. Lem Reed, away badly, rapidly improved his position on the extreme outsidf throughout, getting up to win In the last stride. Homestead, away badly on the inside, closed a big early gap and was repeatedly shut off on the far turn, but got into the lead in the stretch and, tiring, finally suffered an unlucky defeat. May Holla-day, from a flying, start, helped, to force the pace, but was tiring in the stretch. Birdie P. ran forwardly, but failed to stay. .Mountebank went moderately well. Robert Mitchell showed superior speed for six furlongs. Elfin King ran prominently for half the journey. Scratched C0729 Maid of Fermoy, 105. Fisher Boy, after running within striking distance in the good footing, finished like a cyclone when straightened for home. 1 halanx, from a flying start, forced a stiff pace and for seven furlongs held his own, but tired right at the end. Judge, poorly handled, ran a fast and game race. Haviland came from the rear in a whirlwind hnish. ill Lol tap was not fast enough. Clydeo can do better.
