Paul Clifford showed much tire most speed throughout and won all the way with plenty in reserve. Tom Mankins ran in close pursuit throughout, finished gamely and is a useful horse. Little Red went well, but tired at the finish, tilen Gallant finished fast, but was badly handled. The same applies to Verandah. Both were taken very wide on the turn for home. Brookston was lucky at the start and, finishing fast, just got up in the last stride next to the inside rail. Brilliant was oil badly, but made up much ground and would have won in another stride. My Gem was also off poorly, but closed a big gap and finished gamely and may have been best. John Randolph showed improvement and was a prominent contender, all the way. Tennyburn went well. Lady Navarre ran well to the stretch, but was overweighted and tired badly in the stretch. Peter Paul showed early speed, but failed to stay. Overweights St. Valentine, 1 pounds. Friction closed a lot of ground from a slow lKginning and was pressing the winner hard at the end. Cold Circle also made up much ground and finished very gamely.
