W. ONeill was taken back and saved from the early pace for the first half, swung wide into the stretch and then finished fast and won going away. Stump Town, away in a tangle, was excessively used In racing Dusky into subjection in the first, half, which caused her to tire and swerve In the last sixteenth. Dusky had no mishaps and ran a good race. Water Mirror suffered from interference, but ran a dull race. Sneer ran well to the stretch and retired. Martius was pinched off soon after the start. Mike Sutton, away in a tangle and going wide on the turns, finished resolutely and ran as If best. Rifleman ran forwardly for the first quarter and, meeting with slight Interference thereafter, tired and only ran a fairly good race. Almas Pet was given a bad ride and ran out on the stretch turn. Canajoharie tired from chasing Ben Lear and barely lasted loug enough to save third place. Ina Gray, badly ridden and losing ground all the way, finished gamely and, better handled, would have been second. Master Prim acted badly at the ist and quit after going three furlongs.
