Barr steadily improved his position from a poor send-off and loomed up like an easy winner midway of the stretch, but tired as if short in the closing strides. Two Bills, in close quarters in the early running, was a serions contender for live and a half furlongs and was easing up at the end. Wee Lass, away badly, closed a big gap. The latter, away badly on the inside, closed up like a cyclone in the early running and unexpectedly joining issue with the leader in the closing furlong just failed to get up. St. Francis, away very badly, made up a lot of ground on the extreme outside and finished with a lielated rush under a weak linlsh. Grasscutter, palpably short, tired after racing into a long early lead and the race will key her up. Ccrro Santa, also badly handled and in close quarters for the lirst half, was going well at the end. Dod Anderson finished close up. E. M. Rrattain retired early. Ralph Young, reserved in a good iwsition for seven furlongs, closed up rapidly in the last quarter and landed a fast going second. Orchan, heavy headed and inadequately handled, made the running until straightened for home, where he was bumped and fell back, coming again when too late, but may have been short, however. Slogrcgor was In forward contention for over a mile before lie tired and his race was unexpectedly good for him. Lone Wolf Is strictly a mudlark. Fisher Boy, ridden all over the track and principally in the deepest going, failed to make his move on the last turn and met interference, a weak finish topping a generally bad looking ride. Red Light, apparently unable to keep within hailing distance for six furlongs, came along fast right at the end and disposed of Dorado for third place.
