Kuropatkiti, favored by tlie going, ran a fairly good race. Aoltage closed a big gap from a poor beginning. Foot-spring showed sudden improvement. Bendlgo was outrun for the first three furlongs, but moved np resolutely thereafter and was gaining at the end. Charlatan, badly ridden and going wide for the entire trip, was going fast in tlie last furlong and might have been second had Mclntyre continued riding hard.
