Clovercrest practically forced the pace throughout, coming away fast right at the end. Firebrand, from a striding start, ran alongside the pacemaker to the final sixteenth, where he tired. Miss Ogden got away poorly and steadily improved her position, but bolted on the last turn, then finished last and ran a grand race and probably was best. Stoic held his own well, but failed to come on in the stretch. Fatlultzn made up a lot of ground from n slow beginning. Oyama was in a forward and contending position when he bolted on the last turn and stripped very sore before the race. Blue Pigeon ran1 well, being pocketed on the inside in the last half. Pcnarris, ,a slow beginner, closed up steadily into a last going second. Tony Bonero showed superior speed from the start and held on well lu the closlnjj drive. Arcite. in close ipiarters in an inside position and shut off on the last turn, closed up fast at the end arid ran like a stayer. Montgomery, away badly, repeatedly shut off and hopelessly pocketed, finished very fast and was easily second best Domlnator got away poorly and probably favors mud.
