Gold Eiiaiyel was best at the weights, carried Loupanla along at a paw that made the latter tire after they had gone three furlongs, drew away on the far turn and. opening a winning lead, was well in baud through the last furlong. Hyperion II. was crowded back and piuclied off at the half-mile ground and knocked off his stride, lost three or four lengths by the interference and finished fast. Loupanla held Peter Paul safe at all stages. The latter runs best over a soft track. La IaiikIu refused to break as the barrier went up. TTqqTI SECOND RACE 5-8 Mile. 1:00; 2 94. Voting, off in motion, sprinted into a winning lead iu the first quarter, set a fast pace and held his opponents safe at all stages. Minos was taken back in the run down the backstretch, moved up while rounding the far turn and carried Dr. AVentker wide when entering the homestretch and finished gamely under a drive. Mary Custls began slowly, but finished resolutely under punishment and displayed great courage in tlie final drive. Charles Clifford ran a good race. So did Beatrice H. Gulistan fenced admirably and was well handled, trailed for the first time around, then moved up and, after racing Lulu Young into subjection, had plenty left to stall off Gold Runs challenge. Gold Run was waited with for the first time around and moved up when Gulistan did, made a determined effort whilu going to the last fence, but tired under a drive. Lulu Young showed much speed for one turn of the field, then tired. Ogontz fell at the first jump and Sartor Resartus ran out. Little Alike rushed to the front on the first turn, set. a fast pace and had plenty left to stall off Request, but the wiuuer always held him safe. Ropiest came fast in the last quarter. Garrett AVilson was quickly in his stride, set a terrific pace and was under high pressure for the first half, racing Ingolthrlft into subjection and, shaking the latter off, had plenty iu hand it the end. Ingolthrift showed much speed for a half, but tired in the last quarter and was under punishment from the head of the stretch to the finish. Ora Z., after making a wide turn into the homestretch, finished witli a rush and outgamed Felix Mozzes in the final drive. Cobmosa was always in nearest pursuit and finished resolutely, but tired at the end under punishment and swerved across the track to the inside in the last eighth. -Ruiloba could never get to the leaders and had an extreme outside position all the wav, covering more ground than the others. Jumped Into the lead at once ami set the pace all the war, hut bad to stand a hard drive In the last quarter to shake off Salnzilla. The latter raced along with the- winner for the entire trip, but tired a bit wlirti the final struggle came. Glimmer finished fast. Nellie Racine began slowly, was outrun all the way and was on the extreme outside for the entire trip. Minot ran well. Javanese can do better.
