Pythia quickly established and maintained a small lead throughout under skillful nursing. Killkare was always In nearest pursuit of the winner and, after losing much ground at a critical moment in the stretch, came again and was weiring the favorite down at the end. Sufficiency ran forwardlv and gamely all the way and is improving. Banner, away poorly, closed a big gap and was going like a shot at the end. Little Blue and Miss Ogden both mudc up a lot of ground. Society Bud tired after showing good early speed. Bribery, nearly left, improved his iosition. Watergrass ran poorly. Tom Cogan was in forward contention throughout and, after a desperate last six furlongs struggle, outstayed Bound Brook and came away right at the end. The latter, on the inside of Tom Cogan, suffered from crowding, but made a bad landing over the last jump and tired suddenly on the Hat after a superior effort. Patagonian commenced to lose ground after going the first mile and dropped into tldrd place when the others were removed by accidents. Arabo tired badly at the end of a mile and a quarter, but is promising. Python was a contender, helping to force the pace for a mile and three-quarters. Yowrlc ran a comfortable second throughout, but neve rserlouslv luenaced the winner and finished an easing up second. Laura A. closed up steadily in the last hair and finished a fast going third. Cave Adsum ran moderately well, but finished leaton off. Charles G. Gates finished well. Xmas showed fine early speed, nominator got away poorly and ean do better. Consistent broke fast and forged to the front quickly, set a terrific pace, shook off Kings Daughter and drew out to win off by herself. Inquisitor broke .slowly today and moved up ou the inside in the first quarter, was crowded back at the half, but came again like a cyclone into a fast going second and put up a grand atiurt. Kings Daughter, from a flying start, essayed to keep pace with the winner and tired under her weight after going a fast half mile. Belle of Peqnest got away badly, but closed a big gap In a cracking good effort. La Sorelere showed a glimpse of early speed, but failed to stay. Ncstromo ran poorly. Apgler maintained close pursuit of the pacemaker to the far turn, where he was sent along and, assuming command on the last turn, won easing up. Corrigan liked the going and set the early pace, was t-hut off on the last turn, but came on into a fast going second, running a good race. Coy Maid displayed superior speed and failed to stay the .dlsiance, but was a good horse for a mile. Sailor Boy ran forward! and well throughout, but was outclassed. Agile ran poorly. Lord Badge, nearly left, was unable to raise a respectable gallop. Scratched 0391 S Ebony, 98; 03901 Tartan, 93. Dulcinea got away slowly, but moved up gradually in the stretch, where she finished with a rush and, passing Revenue as if tlie latter was anchored, won comfortably. Suada, on the outside with clear sailing and a flying start, .maintained a good -tosltion within striking distance, and finished with a ljelated end rush. Revenue, excessively urged to head the fnvorife, appeared like a certain winner on the last turn, hut again quit badly. Soprano showed a glimpse of speed, but quit early. Economy, nearly left, "losed a big gap. Sphinx also suffered from crowding at the start, had a rough journey and made up ground continually.
