SARATOGAS NEW JUMPS ARE SAFE. Saratoga, N. Y., August S. The jumps in the steeplechase course here have been reconstructed and there Is general praise for them. They are now all banks topped with brush with light round poles at the base and top as guides. This does away with the old complaints of flying timbers, as the poor jumpers lilt the fences, and will certainly tend to reduce materially the number of accidents. The cross country delegation here Is greater than It has been In years, and anything that can be done to Improve this grade of the sport will be done. ..
