Won in a canter: second driving; third the same. Ginette, a high-class mare and in wonderful form, ran hard held in close attendance on the pacemaker until straightened for home, where she went to the front and won off by herseH. Jlemories liked the sloppy going and quickly took a good position in the early running and came on ll"ke a cyclone in the stretch. Rebo ran in third position to the last turn, where he went hopelessly wide arrxl lost second place by it. Edna Jackson made the running at a sizzling pace for nearly a half "before slit succumbed, tiring badly right at the end. Varietes finished well up into an improving fifth. Won driving: second and third the same. Alfar took up the running at the end of the first six furlongs when Kassil fell and held sway practically undisturbed until too late, getting home by weaving in and out in front of Delcpntas belated challenge. Delcanta, choked back in an effort to place him, was always within striking distance and outjumped the others, moved up at the half, where, after numerous interferences by the leader, he just failed to get up and was best. Hylas, favored throughout by the slow pace, was able to maintaiii a place in forward contention in the early running, but failed when the real end struggle began. Mackey Dwyer ran prominently for two miles and then dropied out. Coligny was really never dangerous and ran a poor race. Kassil was leading when his jockey dropped off, appeared much the best when he fell and was outpacing and outjumping everything. Scratched C4115Onteora, 142. d A l K A THIRD RACE 3-4 Mile. 1:123112. Salvidere got off in an inside position and was shut off repeatedly in the first quarter, closed an immense gap In the middle running and, when making an effort on the last turn, was carried out by Ballot, then came along with a rush and mmle good in decisive style. McCarter, from a Hying start, was skillfully placed to the last turn, where he moved up and, overhauling the pacemaker, drew out with a dea? lead when beglnnig the last sixteenth, succumbing, however, to Salvlderes Irresistible challenge, but showing great improvement. Peter Pan was in nearest pursuit of the tremendous pace set for the first half and tired In the closing drive. Ballot was ridden faultily on the last turn, going wide and carrying the favorite with him, took to the inside in the last furlong and finished fast and gamely. De Mund spreadcaglod the others for four and a half furlongs, but tired badly at the end. Prince Fortunatus displayed errly speed and shows steady improvement. Rockstone got away tlatfooted and was hopelessly outpaced throughout. Charles Edward ran poorly. Scratched C4014sFantastic, 119; 04050 Golf Ball, 122. Peter Pan, singly, place, evens; show, 1 to 2.
