Billy Benzlng, off well, rushed to the leaders on the first turn, raced Pinta into defeat in the first three furlongs, drew away while rounding the far turn and had plenty left to stall oft Annie Berrys challenge at the end. Annie Berry, on the extreme outside at the post and beginning slowly, was outrun to the stretch turn, where the came through on the inside and appeared like a sure winner at that point, but tired In the final drive. Mnrinibo closed up with a rush on the far turn, but tired in the last furlong. Rosi NI Ni was cut off at the three-eighths post, where she tried to squeeze through next to the inside rail and fell. Edwin II. began slowly and was forced to work his way up on the outside, but fought It out resolutely with Charley Ward In the last furlong and outgamed him in the final drive Charley Ward raced forwardly all the way, but tired under punishment and was driving to the limit to stall off Gracchus. The latter is a slow beginner and closed a big gap when fully in his stride. Mirabel ran well to the stretch and quit. Corrected weights Mirabel, 102; Precept, 102. The latter, on the outside of the leaders all the way, finished fast after making a wide turn Into the homestretch. Reside saved ground on the far turn where he closed up fast, but tired under a drive at the end. Moccasin got oft well and quit after going three furlongs. Bert Osra, a keen contender at all stages, lost ground when entering the homestretch by making a wide turn. Dan McKenna wait In behind the leaders at the end and could not get through. Benvollo saved cround on the first, turn and raced forwardly all the way, moved up a couple of times, but dropped back and then closed up again In tha last sixteenth.
