Solly M. maintained close pursuit of the leaders from the start, drawing out to win going away In the last sixteenth. Miss Strome, outpaced in the early running, finished fast in the stretch and outstayed Puissant. The latter, shunted to the rear in the first quarter, came again and got up for third place In the last stride. Lucy Marie, away llatfooted and trailing for a half udle. finished with a belated rush. Arlmo began slowly, but closed up in a twinkling into a long lead to the far turn, but quit suddenly and ran palpably short. His race should be thrown out for he outclasses this kind. Elixir showed early speed, but failed to stay and may have been short. Elmout quit suddenly after a great display of speed for three furlongs. Scratched 04392 Glenham. 116. A1 A A Q. Allegiance practically forced the pace throughout, outpacing, outjumping and outstaying his opponents decisively. Sandalwood was a forward contender at all stages, except when beginning the second mile, where he dropped back at a critical moment, closing up rapidly in the last half of a superior effort. Ligero was never dangerous, but finished a moderate third. C. B. Campbell dropped to the rear early aud ran a bad race. The Claimant ran prominently for a mile and a half and then tired, essaying to bolt the coarse at the third from the last jump. Glvonni Balerlo showed a surprising turn of speed aud was waited with in front, just lasting out the journey in unexpectedly game fashion. Bertha E., on the inside in the early running and forced to the outside in the stretch, just failed to get up in a fast, but belated, stretch effort. Calabash steatlllv Improved his position into a fast going tldrd and Is improving and about due. Lord of the Forest, shut off at the start, closed a big gap and may have been best. Cull ran up prominently for five furlongs and finished a good fifth. Bribery, knocked to the rear early, finished well. Just showed speed, but failed to stay. Court Martial was always outrun and ran a bad race. Dandelion leat the gate and saved a couple of lengths on the first turn, was reserved in behind the pacemaker to the last turn, where he moved uo into the lead nnd afterwards shook off Entrccs resolute challenge in the stretch, standing a terrific drive with remarkable gameness. Entree bore out ou the first turn, carrying others with him, and lost several lengths, then challenged the favorite on the last turn and finished fast and resolutely, but could never quite get up. Ravena, carried hopelesslv wide on the first turn, at once ran up Into forward contention and held on until on the last turn, where she quit, l.raziallo was sent out to make the running and held the lead on sufferance and, when the real racing began on the far turn, retired. Wrenne worked through a rough journey to the stretch, where he finished with a belated rush. Varietes closed up Meudlly all the way. Phalanx, on the inside In deep going and excessively urged to force the pace, was crowded out finally on the last turn and badly messed about. Edith James, verv sore and nearly left, eioseu an Immense gap. Water Pansy made up a lot of ground and ran a good race. Yada can do better and so can Ocean Spray. Sir William Johnson, away slowly and shuffled to the rear early, made up onie ground in the last quarter and can do much better.
