RESTORATION SCORES A LUCKY VICTORY. Planute Is Pulled Up at the Start and loses Ten Lengths Reservation Is Lame. Detroit, Mich., September 7. Three favorites, two second choices and one with 15 to 1 against his chances, were the winners at the Windsor track today. The attendance was good and the sport was excellent, close and exciting finishes being the rule. While no especial feature was on the card, the race for two-year-olds at five and one-half furlongs was looked upon as the best of the day. Restoration was the favorite at even money, while the Corrigau colt Planute was the second choice at S to 0. As the race was run Restoration scored a lucky win. Hogg, who had the mount on Planute, pulled up his mount as the webbing was sprung and lost ten lengths at the start. After getting in his stride he set sail for the leaders, but the distance was too great to overcome and he finished second a length behind Restoration. Grace Kimball set a fast pace, but soon gave way to the favorite. De Oro was heavily backed for place and show, but ran disappointingly. Reservation, the favorite In the sixth race, pulled up lame in his warm-up and was excused by the Judges and the usual time was allowed to make a new book.
