Imposition was outrun for the first quarter, hut moved up on the outside on the far turn and, after racing Tanbark into defeat, drew away without great effort in the last furlong. Gracchus began quickly and carried Tanbark along at a pace that made her quit after they had gone a half, but had nothing left when Imposition challenged. Bathmaria finished fast and was wearing Gracchus down at the end. Salvisa got off slowly and was given an easy ride. Cavatina ran well and looks like one that might improve. Fleeting Star began quickly and, showing brilliant speed, sprinted away from her opponents In the first furlong and, opening a winning lead, was well in hand all of the last furlong. Pedro moved up gamely and made iiis challenge on the far turn, but the winner easily shook him off in the last quarter. Golden Pheasant ran well and saved ground all the way, but was tiring at the end. Fire Alarm finished fast and had a rough trip in the early stages. Great Sorceress showed speed, but tired. Exclamation was placed for the first mile, but moved up with a rush when Mountain called on him, went around the leaders when entering the homestretch and drew away without much effort at the end. Benvollo moved up on the turn out of the backstretch, but failed when it came to a drive and had his ears pinned back at the finish and appeared to be sulking. Cambridge -finished gamely and outlasted Joe Levy under punishment. The latter dropped back in the first sis furlongs and then closed a big gap. Vestryman and Arab set the early pace on sufferance. Toots Mook rushed to the front from the outside with a brilliant burst of speed and set a terrific pace, but was tiring at the end and barely outlasted Charlie Eastman in the final drive. The latter outbroke the others and had a length the best of It at the start, closed up gamely after entering the homestretch and appeared like the winner at the sixteenth post, but tired in the last "dozen strides. Eminola ran well and, putting up a good, game stretch effort, outstayed Gold Enamel and Fair Calypso under punishment. Scratched 64204 Scotch Plume, 97; C4550Cholk Hedrlck, 103. Won easily; second driving: Mies Leeds held her opponents safe all the way, opened a winning lead in the first furlong and, setting a fast pace, was going away in the last furlong. Orderly ran well, but just managed to last long enough to stall off Governor Orman. The latter had a rough trip, was sharply cut off by Orderly on the turn out of the back-htretch and Fischer was forced to pull him up and go to the outside. Stoner Hill began slowly and closed a big gap in the last quarter. Nervator ran fairly well. The latter was taken back in the run down the backstretch, but came fast in the last furlong and was wearing the winner down. Miss Hawley, away slowly and crowded back on the first turn, closed a big gap and finished fast. Orfeo was given an easy ride. Comic Opera showed early speed and tired as if short.
