FINANCE ON THE BACE TRACK.- "During the betting on the sixth race at Sheeps-liead Bay Saturday," says the New Xork Sun, "a man went up to bookmaker C. W. Watson and, handing him a hundred dollar bill, said: Fifty on Royal Lady. The cashier, in making the change, handed back a 00 bill, mistaking it for a fifty. The man put it in his pocket aud walked away before the error was discovered. The cashier soon learned of his error and turned to John Cavanagh, who told him to star the . bet on the sheet and ask the man for the money when he came to cash. The latter appeared promptly when Royal Lady won aud as soon as he was questioned about the money he drew the 00 bill, from his pocket and gave It up, with good grace. But if Royal Lady had lost? Well, that is something that cannot be discussed here."
