They re Off broke striding and quickly challenged the pacemaker and, setting it stiff pace, drew out in the last furlong, but finished tiring. Frank Lord forced the early pace, relinquished the lead in the stretch and was crossed by the winner, but came again on the outside and just failed to get up. Mintia t-ame fast from the rear and finished going like a cyclone. Slickaway loomed up well on the last turn, but tired right at the end. Van Ness was crowded on the last turn and ceased to be a contender. Ruk showed early speed, but failed to stay and his race should be thrown out. Edna Jackson had no chance at the start. Anneta Lady closed a big from bad gap a start. Dunvallo, nearly left, made ud P a lot of ground. Tom McGrath and Optician were both short. Leonard Joe Hayman decisively outbroke, outpaced and outstayed his opponents, winning" all the wiy under a pull for the first six furlongs and under pressure to stand off Orly, but drew out fast at the end. Orly, luckily placed from the start, almost, was in close, but unavailing, pursuit of the winner throughout and put up a superior effort. Luckett maintained a good position within striking distance of the-leaders, but could never get up and-was a lucky third. Tartan, away poorlv and carried very wide cn the first turn, closed a big gap into a fast going fourth under a poor ride. Janeta steadily Improved her position from a poor start after losing ground on the first turn. Flavigny ran well for six furlongs and tired as If short. The same applies to Consuelo.
