Lotus, fresh and in flue form, proceeded to spreadeagle her opponents from the start and won cantering. Firebrand -maintained a prominent .position all the way and held on unusually well: Single Honours was in nearest pursuit of the winner to the stretch, where lie tired slightly, but put up a superior elfort. Mandarin, away very badly, closed a big gap and Is in his best form. Daruma ran . moderately well. Wes, nearly left, made up a lot of ground, but had no chance at the start or with a bad ride. Fantastic was lucky throughout, outbroke and then outpaced her opponents from start to llnish. Dan Buhre, on the outside and away- poorly, closed steadily a big gap and, coming at the end with, a rnsh, got up. for third place In the last stride and is very promising. Lord Boanerges, from n-lucky start, was ln-forward and game contention throughout and is about- due. Ariino was-shut off repeatedlv v.hile next to-the Inside -rail and loomed-up midway of the stretch, but tired right at the end. Rosemount wns shut off .and knocked to the rear on the far turn and given a bad ride: Okenite got away very badly and, closing a big gap, had a chance In the stretch, but swerved bajlly. Don Royal was rushed into the lead on the first turn, set a stilt pace throughout, drew away when challenged in the stretch and ran like a coming good one. Martin Dovle, shut off on the first turn and securely pocketed on the far turn, when, with clear sailing In the stretch, closed a big gap and was going like a cyclone at the end. Oxford was pulled up and nearly fell on the first turn, but was sent after the leader and finally succumbed right at the end of a long effort to overhaul hiui. Kiaracsha got away very bndly itnd was mishandled throughout, hut closed a big gap. Red Friar, outpaced and outclassed at the weights, put up a good performance. Hallowmas was closing up fast at the end. Cederstrome failed to stay. Vendor showed superior early speed and tired after six furlongs as if short. Shot Gun outclassed his opponents at the weights, forced a terrific pace from the start, shook on Deutsch-land and drew out cantering in the stretch. Keator, away badly and shut off, closed a big gap and was going like a cyclone at the end. Rye was short, got away In the lead, but could not keep pace with the winner, fell back and was forced to go wide and tired at the end, hut is a grand horse. Deutschland kept pace with Shot Gun for a half mile and retired after showing grand speed. Big Ben ran forwardly to the stretch and is becoming good. Quadrille got away badly and was pocketed most of the way. Monterey made up ground. Flavigny, nearly left and knocked back early, closed an immense gap. Lady Ellison, lucky, but outpaced, finished well and is very good, but best In soft going. Graceful tired after strenuous early pursuit of the winner, finished easing up and Is in good form. Jennie McCabe made up ground from a poor start. Little Blue, nearly left, closed a big gap. Apollo showed early speed. Park Row failed to stay. Jack Shine was left and only cantered the journey. Tom McGrath forged quickly to the front on the inside and made the running by a wide gap under a hard pull throughout. Sly Ben Is improving, ran well up from the start and finished with a rush. Listless was in nearest pursuit of the winner to the last fifty yards, where she tired. Water Tank got away slowly and went to the outside, losing much ground, but finished well. Jessamine, nearly left, made up a lot of ground. Gold Coin is out of place in sprints. Scratched 04307 Shineon, 105; 64430 Realm, 100; 64748 Park Row, OS. Corrected weights Jessamine, 93.
