Laura E. broke in a forward position, showed the most speed and, standing a hard drive gamely, held Earl of Leicester safe iu the final drive. The latter closed a gap early and. finishing fast and gamely, ran a good race. My Bessie showed improved form and, saving ground all the way. was gaining slowly at the end. Tanager was poorly handled and taken wide most of the way, but finished going fast and would have been closer up with better handling. Bon Vivant tired after going ix half. Lady Vimont got away slowly and ran into a contending position, but tired when hard driven. San Ardo, away poorly, closed a big gap and finished fast. Scratched 649992Nedra, 102. Whippoorwill ran well in the early stages, but tired fast- after goinc three-quarters. Elliott ran a good race under poor handling and is iu good form. Sand Bath was a sharp factor for the first half. Joe Lesser, away slowly and poorly handled, ran a winning race and closed a big gap in the last quarter. St. Volma, much the best, fenced well and was winning in -the final strides vheu his rider permitted his head to drop, causing him to swerve and lose. Lady Jocelyii ran a "good race under poor handling. John DIUon was never a serious contender after going one round of the field. Gus Lanka was a sharp factor when he fell.
