Fair Calypso was right there during the early stages, moved up fast after- going a half and, wearing down Alsono in the final sixteenth, got up in the final stride. The latter was.pooketed most of the wny, dashed into the. lead when clear and tired unexpectedly in the closing strides. Oasis,, away slowly, had to work through a rough trip, finished fast and would have won in a few more strides. Toboggan, away well,, showed the most speed for a half and ran In improved form. French Nun suffered from early Interference and closed a gap in the last quarter. Salvage tired after going a quarter and was cased up almost to a walk in the last furlong. Still Alarm, well handled and running to his best form, was saved from the early pace, moved up with a rush on the stretch turn and held the others safe through the stretch. Tanager forced a fast pace in the, early stages, raced Spider Web into subjection and lasted well In the final drive. Ounrdl was shuffled back Soon after the start and bore out through the stretch run, but stood a drive gamely. Lady Yimont had scant chance with the incompetent handling she was subjected to and can do much better. Spider Web ran well for the first three-quarters. San Ardo tired near the end. Frontenac, favored by good racing luck and running to his best form, set a fast pace almost from the start and, after going around the others in the stretch, stood the final drive well and outstayed Funicn-laire. The latter began slowly, but closed a gap steadily and was wearing the winner down In the last sixteenth. Lady Esther was going well at the -end and had to overcome slight Interference In the first half. Charlie Eastman tired badly after being an active contender to the final sixteenth. Governor Orman is speedy, but was outclassed here. Prince Brutus can do much better and was eased up all through the stretch. Tarn OShanter ran fairly well. Dr. Keith put up a good performance and lasted well in the final drive. Lady Jocelyn showed the most early speed, but blundered repeatedly over the last half dozen jumps, Archibald losing one of his stirrups. Plea ran a good race and is showing steady improvement. Ninepin pulled up very lame. The others were beaten off throughout. Audacious fell at the first jump and Dell Leath lost his rider at the sixth. Scratched C5110 Profitable, 147.
