For the first time since the meeting opened the sun shone out in all its glory today and a big crowd was out to see th-; races at thefair grounds. It was draw-in day and-twenty-two books cut in for three days. The track was still heavy and holding, but It was drying rapidly and the harness races will be resumed tomorrow, which will make the post time on the runners 3:15. There was quite a bit of good class sprinkled. through the program, which included the Navigation Stakes for two-year-olds. Seven answered the bugle call. Ed Trotters Jacomo was always favorite, with Tres .Toll second choice. The winner turned up in G. W. Scotts Mary Candlemas, a handsome daughter of Candleblack, which made all the running "and won handily from the favorite. Tres .Toli, in close contention to the eighth post, dropped back out of the money. Lani-padroine surprised all by taking a . speedy lot into camp in the second race of the day, which had the best, class horses outside of the stake. Bonnie Prince Charlie beat a cheap lot in the first. Rosl Ni Ni, Netting and Mary Ellen were the other winners. Netting was bid up to 00. 00 over her entered price, and bought by William Keene.
