NOTES OF THE TURF. Barney Sehrcibor has an option on the small rider H. Alex, and may take him to Sau Francisco. It.is said the owners of Far West have abandoned a partly-arrived-at intention of making that useful horse a jumper. Admiration, Pretty Tollys dam, is in foal to Flying Fox. Her for.l by St. Frusquin died when she was in France tills spring. An assumed name partnership has been lodged with the Jockey Club under which Frank Lord and Ace High will run in the name of the Five Points Stable. " Augnst Belmont is having a country house built on his Nursery Farm near Lexington, Ky., and, it is said, will hereafter spend a part of each year in residence there. A. M. Allen, of San Francisco, a noted track builder, has looked over the grounds at Arcadia and says the course can be conlplctcd and fully equipped by March 15 and will file plans and bid for the contract. Judging by the crowded condition at Oakland, it looks as iff the California Jockey Club should build at least 100 or 200 more stalls. Horsemen arc coming here from all points and a strong effort should lie made to accommodate every one. Horsemen are very naturally opposed to stabling at Tanforan while all the racing is at Emeryville. San Francisco Chronicle. .
