CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE CARNIVAL STAKES. i The fifth running of the Carnival Stakes ocean this afternoon at the track of the Crescent City Jockey Club in New Orleans. It is a dash of four ami a half furlongs for two voar-olds, that last year fell to the speedy filly Bemay in a well-earned triumph over Frank Lord and Judge Davev. Two-year-olds of high class seldom crop up in winter and early spring racing, but of those placed in this event Diek Bernard. Arch Oldham. Leonard Joe Hayman.
