GROWING TOO HEAVY TO RIDE. Oakland, Cal., February 26. —Jockey L. Fountain has decided to retire permanently from the saddle on account of increasing weight. Jockey T. Clark has about decided to pursue the same course for the same reason. Fountain has had only twenty-four mounts since the peasant meeting opened in November and he has ridden only four winners.
