ABOUT THE TWO-YEAR-OLDS. Gotthraest, the bay colt by Gobb-rcst -Qacwi, which is carded to make his first start in the third race at ;ravesond today, is a half brother to Electioneer, Tommy Atkins. Trumpet. Maximo Gomez. Qaoram, David II. and Taragoa. He was bred by the late Major B, G. Thomas at Dixiana Stud in Kentucky and was sold at Sheepshead Bay. July •"•. last to II. B. Daryea for 81,500, electioneer at that time had not begun bis triumphant career, lie did not make his first start until July 13, and he lin-ished second three times before he scored his victory in the Futurity at Sheepshead Bay September 1. and came right back to win the Autumn Maiden Stakes At the time of the purchase of this colt it was con sidered Ihat Mr. Duryea had got a bargain and alter the achievement of Klcctiouoor in the Futurity many aa owner would gladly have taken the youugste-off his hands for five times the price he paid. Miss Adkinson. the brown filly by Caldron — Dixie Flyer, is the first foal of his dam. a young daughter of Jim Core which is owned by O. F. Troutman of Lexington. Ky. Miss Adkinson was sold as a yearling to J. Adkinson for §100. She comes from the famous Picayune family. Gold Franc, the chestnut gelding by Goldcrest ■■— Francolin. is another first foal. He was bred by William Lakeland, whose colors he will carry today. Francolin is by Inverness out of Frantic and was bred by the late Manns Daly. Lucille P.. which is carded to start for the first lime at Louisville today is a full sister to Concert. She belongs to Edward Frazer. Dr. Mathews is a half brother to that good mare Agues Virginia. Ed Alvey got him from Miller Henderson, who paid 8380 or him as a yearling. St. Magnet is a full brother to Irish Jew and a half brother to Ladsariou.
