NOTES OF THE TURF. Acting for August Belmont, trainer John Whalen has sold the two-year-old filly Valley Stream, by Octagon Lady of the Valley to Dan Lynch. Valley Stream has been working well. A. Hamel says he and his partner, Henry Brula-tier, have decided to keep Notasiuga, for the present, at least, and that she will not be sold unless an unexpected sum Is offered for her. Danny Maher. Lucien Lytic anw W. Higgs. the latter one of the topnotchers among the English jockeys, are living together at Newmarket, having leased "Skeets" Martins house while Martin is riding in Austria. In a letter to a friend in New York Willie Shaw expresses himself as well pleased with his engagement with tlie stable of Weinberg Brothers in Germany, says he is certain of a profitable season and will return to the United States about December 1. Lady Caroline IL was not stolen, as was stated In a dispatch sent out of New Orleans some weeks ago.
