THREE FAVORITES WIN AT WINDSOR. Goldblatt Swaps Matabon for Golden Mineral Steeplechase Jockey OConnor Injured. Detroit, Mich., July 2. A free gate for ladies served to attract a large crowd to AVindsor today. The weather was cool and the track fast. Three favorites, Prolific, Sliineon and Light Note, won. Winners of the other races were second choices, with the exception of Tomnabat in the second. He won easily at 10 to 1. Steeplechase jockey OConnor, one of the best cross-country riders here, suffered a fracture of the collarbone this morning. Bed Pobe fell with him while schooling through the field. Jockey Gaugel, who was slightly injured by his fell in the last race yesterday, cancelled his engagements for the day. J. V. Strode, to whom the boy is under contract, says he would give him a rest for a week or two. Mose Goldblatt bought Matabon from AVilliam Gerst for ,300 last week, and this morning traded him to P. JL Civill for Golden Mineral. Civill shipped Halliard to BufTalo this afternoon to start in the Independence Stakes at Kenilworth Thursday. It is expected that La Pucelle will come here from Buffalo to run in the Pontchartrain Stakes Thursday.
