SIEVIER IS REINSTATED. London, July 2. Robert S. Sievier, who was ruled oil" the turf in May 1901, lias been reinstated by tli Jockey Club and will soon form another wing stable. Sievier was ruled off in consequence, it was thought at the time, of tlie testimony given against him in his libel suit against Sir James Duke, who bad publicly referred to Sievier as a card sharper, and made other charges, and had asserted that he bad caused his mare Sceptre to be "pulled" for the Derby. The jury decided that Duke had not committed any libel and mulcted Sievier in the costs of the suit. Pi the month following the trial of this case, which took place in May, Sievier was arrested on a charge of perjury in connection with it, but was acquitted on his trial.
