Core broke slowly and steadily improved his position into a fast finishing second. Rarbary Rello, after maintaining close pursuit of the winner, finished well. Crackenthorpe tired finally after a strenuous early effort to overhaul the pacemaker. San Alviso. seemingly outpaced in the early" running, finished very fast and closed an immense gap in the last half. Cederstrome is ditlicult to class and likes soft going. Phantom, best handled, after close pursuit of the early pacemaker, moved up suddenly when beginning t lie last mile into the lead and, after being forced to relinquish his advantage, drew up again and won off after Commodore Fontaine fell over the last obstacle. Jimmy Lane, twice badly interfered with on the first turn, dropped back, but came on and outstayed Sheriff AVilliams for second place finally. The latter made the running for over a mile, then succumbed after a game effort. Commodore Fontaine showed the most speed and appeared all over the winner when lie came to grief at the last jump. Julia Powel was a forward contender throughout and put up a wonderfully game stretch struggle. Parkview broke green and swerved across the others, but set the pace and is a good filly that was crowded slightly when nosring the finish. Meggs Hill, away poorlv, came fast from the rear and was wearing all except the winner down at the end. Tartar Maid" was well up throughout. Cottontown, lucky at the start, was forwardly placed in the early running and drew out with a rush midway of tne stretch, but tired and just lastn? to score a lucky win. Sir Lynnewood. from a good start, was crowded repeatedly to the rear on the backstretch, but closed up rapidly on the outside and just failed to get up in a belated stretch rush. First Premium, carried out on the first turn, steadily improved his position into a fast going third and is extra good. Cairngorm bore out on the first turn, hut caught the front division quickly and loomed up ir. the stretch, but tired finally after a cracking effort. Coy Maid, luckily placed from the start, developed superior speed for seven furlongs, but failed to stay. Prince Hamburg outbroke and outpaced the others lor nearly a mile, but tired finally as if not keved up. Zambesi had no chance after the start and was forced to the extreme outside on the first turn. Tony Bonero, crowded back on the first turn, closed up gradually afterwards, made M a fast final challenge and is extra good. Golf Ball was prominent and in very game contention throughout. Zetlius closed up fast from the rear into a close up fourth. Dreamer maintained close pursuit of the pacemakers from the start and drew out on the last turn, but succumbed in the stretch and was pulled up at the end. Caboclion. away poorly and Inadequately handled, finished well with A belated stretch rush. George S. Davis was very fast, -but failed to stay. Hal, from a Hying start, helped fovea the pace and, after serious interference in the stretch, landed a fast going second. Biskra held a small lead in the middle running, but swerved badly and Impeded Hal, for which she was disqualified out of third place. Scallop was never really dangerous, lmt finished easing up, however. Montauk finished well. Task Master closed a gap from a poor start. The same applies to Alauda. Wild Star was virtually left.
