SMiado, showing improved form, was prominent throughout and, standing a hard drive in the final furlong, wore down Merrigo in the closing strides. Merrigo, saving ground when coining into the stretch, dashed into the lead midway of the stretch, but tired slightly near the end. Aansel. going a tritle wide into the stretch, also tired when his chances appeared best. Bucket Rrigade, poorly ridden, was allowed to drop far back in the early stages and finished going faster than the leaders. Lady Aie ran a good race and displayed much speed. Rexall quit badly after going a half. Margaret Randolph showed, the most early speed, but failed to stay. Sabado, entered for 00, was hid up to 00 by AV. A. Smith and bought in. Tsara set a fast pace all the way and. saving ground on the turns, stood a hard drive gamely and outstayed AMperine. The latter was prominent all the way and but for being forced a trifle wide on the turns would have won. Stoner Hill appeared badly lieatou at the stretch head, but came again at the end1 find secure;l third place in the last stride. Bert Osra was forced to go around the leaders on the stretcli turn and was gaining in the last furlong. Gallithea ran a good race. Uncle Henry will improve. Ben Trovato moved as If string halted when going to the post, lint ran a fairly good half. The winner was entered for 1907.sh00: 110 bid. Scratched C300S AVakeful, 101. Redwood II., clear of interference, followed Careless close up for the first three-quarters, then took the lead and, finishing gamely, held the others safe in the final drive. Matador, probably best, was weakly handled and bore out in the stretcli run, which cost him the race. Careless, showing improved form. Isold on well after showing the most earl siwed. Attila began slowly and finished gamely. Tinker tired titer looming up prominently on the stretch turn. AVedgwood ran a bad race and suffered from slight interference. Lillie Turner, hard ridden all the way, followed the leaders close up to the stretch turn, where she swung wide lmt. gaining steadily under punishment, were down Miss Alert in the last furlong mil won drawing clear. Miss Alert showed superior early speed and set the pace steadily, was passed by Miss Lida on the stretch turn, but came again at the end and took second place in the last few strides. Miss Lida, ridden hard all the way. saved ground by a close turn into the stretch and seemed a certain winner at the eighth post, but lired unexiiectedly in the last sixteenth. AVing Ting had no mishaps and was a distant trailer for the first three-quarters and moved up gauiely thereafter. T.ee Huffman, showing improved form, moved up steadily all the way and. wearing down Iloserrian in the final furlong, won drawing away. Beatrice K. set a fast pace in the early stages and, standing the final drive fairly well, outstayed Roserrian. The latter was away fast and showed superior speed for a half, but tired i;i the stretch drive. Haughty ran a good race and had no mishaps. Barnsdale got away slowly and suffered from slight interference, but closed a gap. Relltoone tired after going a half. Bensonhurst and Ben Strong were almost thrown in the first quarter and were eliminated as contenders. The wiuher was entered for 00: no bid. Scratched G9791Minos, 103. Overweights Haughty, lj pounds. Demo, suffering from interference on the first turn and again while going into the backstretch, bad to go wide In the stretch, hut finished fast and was best. Blaze oLIght had a rough trip and came with good burst of speed when clear. Camille trailed far back in the early stages and closed a gap in the last half. Cygnet tired badly after showing a high order of speed. Caroline W. ran a good three-quarters. Warner Griswell ran poorly. The winner was entered for : no bid. Scratcned 09719 Lieutenant Rice, 107.
