WEIRS ABSENCE EXPLAINED. New York, July 11. The fact that H. McLaughlin saddled Boseben and - Dr. Gardner at Brighton Beach yesterday does not mean that F. D. Weir has left his position as trainer of the horses In the Sulllvan-Farrell-Jolinson establishment. Mr. Weir has acquired more sensitiveness than he possessed In the time of racing at Gloucester and East St. Louis, and since that day in July, 190.1, when he was censured by the Brighton stewards for sending Kcator to the post in an unfit condition, he has not appeared at the track in the capacity o trainer.
