Neoskaleeta. from a good inside start, was always a forward contender, drew out In the stretch and won a Jticky race and shows steady improvement. Sister Frances was virtually left, but went into suicidal pursuit oi! the extreme outside, went wide on the turns and, in a whirlwind rush, finished second and was best. Momentum beat the barrier and made the running for live furlongs before he tired and was palpahly viiort. Jennie Wells ran forwardly throughout and is worth remembering. Lady Vera was gaining in the last half and finished well up. Escutcheon was never dangerous and can do better. Miss Strome, nearly left, as usual, closed a big gap. Mary F. was very sore in the preliminary. Royal Onyx showed superior tpeed. was short and is a grand looker. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Ingham was crowded out at the start, but found a lucky inside opening on the turn and, closing up gradually, wis finally forced to the outside on the last turn, but came along on the outside and made good at the end. Red Leaf, pulled up at the start and nearly left, closed an immense gap and. coming with a belated stretch rush, was probably best. Von Tromp, after early interference, was reserved in close attendance on the pacemaker, moved up on the last turn and tired finally, but was a surprisingly gami-tliird und?r punishment. Royal Ben outbroke the others and made the running to the final hundred yards before lie succumbed and finished In very close quarters. Belcast ran prominently to the half, where he dropped back, but was going well again In the stretch. Yorkist, never really dangerous, finished well. Samuel II. Cntlewood unexpectedly outbroke his opponents and set the pace, pulling over on Sparkles in the first quarter, however, and knocking liini out of contention, drew away afterwards and won on" finally, but was disqualified for fouling. Earl !., badly Interfered with and messed about, went wide in the stretch and just got up for second place in the last stride. Tartar Maid was well up and luckily placed throughout and finished a lucky third. Zagg, pulling up and going hopelessly wide on the turn, finished well under a weak ride. Sparkles ran in an inside position lapped on the pacemaker to the half, where he was crowded to the fence and shuliled to the rear. The others were always trailers. Ballot was patiently reserved under a hard pull within striking distance of Monfort to the far turn, where he dashed past him as if he was anchored and, coming on alone, won as ills rider pleased. Monfort made the running under a choking pull and quickly succumbed when Ballet tackled him at the end of seven furlongs, but finished a very game and fast going second. Saracinesca, outclassed by the first two, was well up, but on sufferance for seven furlongs, after which lie dropped back steadily. Rye, away in front, was taken back and patiently waited with on the inside to the stretch, where he wore the leaders down finally after a terrific stretch drive and was lucky. Rapid Water, messed about in the early running, finished fast and just fell short of winning because of a weak finish. Arimo went wide on the first turn but. showing great speed, established too long a lead and succumbed finally under a whipping finish. Ostrich had no mishaps, was never dangerous, but finished well. Tommy Waddell, away badly, closed an early gap too quickly and. after forward contention to the stretch, tired finally. Rel Friar had scant chance, but came with a belated stretch rush. Ccderstrome trailed throughout, seemingly tillable to raise a respectable gallop. Banyah followed the pacemaker to the last turn, where he ran out and came again gamely, but could never recover his lost ground. Rosimiro showed brilliant speed, i-iiot Into the lead quickly and made the running to the last sixteenth before he tired. Hiacko loomed up 011 the last turn, but was carried wide by Banyah and put out of commission. Ansouia finished well and the samp applies to Contact. The winner was entered for ,000; no hid.
