PETER PAN AT SARATOGA. Peter Pan has three engagements at Saratoga. He is lu the Saratoga Handicap at a mile and a quarter, Saratoga Cup at a mile and three-quarters and Great Kepublle Stakes at a mile and a quarter. His seeming present rival for the champiouship of the three-year-olds, Charles Edward, is in the Croat Republic also, but Is not in the Saratoga Handicap or Cup. Charles Edward has also lieen nominated to the Merchants and Citizens Handicap, Cham-plain Handicap, Delaware Handicap, Saramic Handicap and Huron Handicap, but his only chance to clash with Peter Pan is in the Great Bepublic, which will be run Saturday, August 17. In this race Peter Pan will carry 121 pounds. If Charles fidward should win the Brighton Derby he will have to carry 110 pounds. Otherwise his Impost, If saved for the Great Bepublic, will be 10S pounds and at such comparative figures it appears that he should prevail over Peter Pan for the big eud of the ?-0,000 prize. The weights for the Saratoga Handicap arc not out yet, but it is safe to assume that Mr. Vosburg will hand him an Impost sufficient to render his chance of winning dubious, to say the least. His best chance to win appears to be in the Cup. This is at weight for age, so that nominally all will run on even terms. His burden here will be 113 pounds and it should set lightly on the back of the Brighton Handicap winner. Frank GUI, Monfort, Tony Faust and Yankee Girl were among the July entries to the Cup and of the prior nominations Flip Flaii, Nealon, Montgomery. Salvidcre, Tangle, Sir Huon, Bunning Water, Dr. Gardner, Electioneer and Gallavaut -are best. Peter Pan should win the Cup, if sent for it, but .otherwise he does not appear to have anything but a hard chance in his other engagements at Saratoga.
