Burton gave him, Charlie Iaslmaii might have won the handicap, which was the feature of the card at Fort F.rie today. The start was only fair and Charlie Kastuian was slow in getting away. lie trailed along in the middle of the bunch until the stretch was reached where Durtou leisurely brought him through on the inside, but did not make a move until it was too late to get better than third. Dusonbark, owner of Den Stille, protested payment of the purse to James Grilliu on the ground that It. T. Duiinclls, who was programmed as the trainer of Prontenac had not left Lalnnia. The matter will be taken up by the judges tomorrow. The third, fourth ami lifth races were won by favorites. When the horses went to the post in the third race a light shower began to fall, which, however, subsided before the fifth race was run. What rain did fall did not hurt the track any.
