RODGERS CLAIMS OWNERSHIP. DulTalo. X. Y., August 5. Judge Price this afternoon received a telegram from William Dodgers of Detroit stating that he is the owner of Sally Preston. The lilly started in the fourth race in the name of W. II. Seenian; trained by James Robertson. Sally Prestons last previous start was at New Orleans April 13 in the name of W. Dodgers. Trainer Robertson told Judge Price that the filly is the property of Seenian, but that Mr. Dodgers holds a hill of sale on her for money loaned, the understanding being that if the money is not paid hack he could ha1 e the lilly. Judge Price wrote to Mr. Dodgers that lie could not decide the legal side of the question and advised him to go into court for a decision as to the ownership of the lilly. Meanwhile, if he so desired, he could protest any of the moneys that the filly might win at Fort Frie.
