DO NOT WANT HOLTMAN! A rumor comes from San Francisco that Jake Holtmau will not be invited to do the starting this coming winter at the race track of the New California Jockey Club. "Holtmans work at the barrier last season was below par, and he got Into disfavor with the public to such an extent that the officials do not consider him a drawing power," says the dispatch. "The honesty of the starter is not nor never has been questioned, but he simply fell into a rut from which he seemed to be unable to extricate himself. Just who will assist Dick Dwyer on the coast Is not known."
