Belle of Iroquois was well back in the early running, but improved her position on the far turn and. Joining the leaders after entering the stretch, soon had them in trouble and drawin" clear won going away. Anna May was in the front division from the start and, coming fast through the stretch passed Royal Lady in the final sixteenth. The latter was reserved to the stretch, then moved into the lead and appeared the winner, but unexpectedly tired in the final drive. Toots Mook showed speed but was unlucky and interfered witli at a critical stage. Froward showed superior early speed, but tired in tiie stretch struggle. La Londe ran fairly well. AVon driving; second the same; third easily DArkle trailed in the rear for three-quarters, then, moving up with a cyclonic rush, won holding his own and is now at his best. Fancy P.ird set the early pace fast and held on resolutely in the final drive. 1 oquessing was always prominent in the running and easily outstayed Clare Russell for third place. The latter was speedy and ran a good three-quarters, but failed to stay the route. True Boy fell out of for ward running early and ran a disappointing race. Don Hamilton was well up for three-quarters and will improve. Joseph Brant ran poorly. AVon driving; second and third the same. Big Chief, probably a coining good one, forged into the lead quickly and held sway to the end, but finished doing his best and will be improved by the race. Polly AAatts, a very promising filly, was outrun to the stretch and green, but came with a great rush when straightened away in the stretch aud almost got up to win. Bellwether was a fast and game contender from the start, but tired in the closing struggle. My.tiiier showed a good turn of speed and finished resolutely in a driving finish. Baroda closed a bis Sap into a close up fifth. Goshen Chief showed speed and ran in improving form. Imitator closed an immense gap from a bad start. Tenancy by Courtesy, Marengo and Winning Star showed speed, but were shuffled back early. Aails is i grand filly, forged quickly into the lead and, setting a terrific pace, showed the way throughout Mid, standing a hard drive with unflinching courage, won out in a great display of speed and stamina. Dr. Gardner, running to his true form today, was always in close and strenuous pursuit of the winner and. although unable to quite get up, ran a great race. Sir Lynnewood closed a big early gap steadily and finished like a shot. Cairngorm was a forward and menacing competitor for three-quarters, but tired slightly in the terriiic stretch drie. Ben Ban ran a good, honest race, but was unable to compete effectively with such superior speed. Zienap ran a good race for her. Running Water was never conspicuousi, yet was close up at the finish. Single Stone was in game and strenuous pursuit throughout hut was not able to get up and was clearly second best only. Black Mary was outpaced from the start, but coming fast at the end. Moquette showed early speed, but tired in the stretch drive. Bridge Whist can do better. Pins and Needles closed an early gap with a rush and, in a game imal effort, outstayed Sam Rernard for second place. The latter made up ground in the last half and finished resolujely. Loudoun Light showed the most early speed, but failed badly in the Until quarter. Muck Rake ran well to the stretch and retired. The others cut no figure. Scratched 70000 Algie, 98; Westbury, 98.
