Won easily; second and third the same. Ben Stille got off fast and dashed into a winning lead on the first turn, led by a wide gap and was under restraint all through the last furlong. Meddlesome Boy was poorly ridden, was taken back repeatedly until he was last, then closed a big gap, finished fast and should have won easily. Charles L. Stone ran in inmroved form and outlasted Dahak in the final drive. Dahak ran well to the stretch aud pulled ii very lame. Nettie Carita and Ecclesiastic showed seed, but failed to stay. Lady Elkhorn, when close up and running fast, was carried wide on the turn into the homestretch, but came again under punishment and outstayed Toplofty. The latter was on the inside all the way, saved ground 011 every turn and fought it out resolutely all through the last furlong with Wild Cherry, but was tiring .at the end. Showim.n ran well, but was repeatedly interfered with by Awawegang and bumped into a couple of times in the last hundred yards and Swain was forced to pull him up at the end. Sallie Suter finished fast, was on the outside all the way and saved ground on every turn. McCarthy is a bail post rider and was unable to get Oleasa going freely until in the last quarter, where she came fast, but too late. Aiegra showed speed, hut tired in the stretcli drive. Tom Shaw dashed into the lead at once and showed the most speed for five furlongs, then tired, but held 011 well. Don Q. was well up and lighting it out witli the pacemaker until well into the final furlong before tiring. Orlandot run poorly. Frank Collins closed a big gap in the last quarter and outstayed Careless for third place. The latter ran an extra good race. Miss Gaiety bolted to the outside fence when making the turn into the homestretch; and pulled up lame. Cousin Kate was speedy, but failed to stay. The winner was entered for 500; no bid.
