MORGAN IS A DESIRABLE LAD. Gus Macey and F. J. Pons are at loggerheads over the services of A. Morgan, an apprentice lad, who has been riding witli success for Pons in the west. Macey has a contract on the boy which has yet three years to run. Pons, it is said, claims that this contract is invalid, because Macey failed to pay the boys mother 5 per mouth as stipulated in the papers. Macey claims that he can prove that the mother released him from this clause as long as the boy is permitted to earn money by riding for other owners.
