Hiram at once dashed to the front and opened np a winning lead in the first furlong, but was tiring at the end and driving to tlie limit to stall off Wise Hand. The latter broke slowly and trailed along in the rear division until in tlie last quarter, then closed up well with a great stretch run and would have won in another stride. Rip Rap was outrun all the way, but wore Tenez down in the last quarter. Tlie latter ran well to the stretcli and tired. Loretta1 Mack showed early speed. Scratched 093S9 The Chef, 109. The Chef finished gamely under punishment and was catching the winner at the tnCl. Jack Barr was made entirely too much use of in setting the pace and tired badly. Pantoulle, on the outside all the way, was carried wide into the homestretch, but outgamed Moonraker in the final drive. The latter ran to his best form. No Trumper went well, but coWil never get up and was on the ouiside of the leaders until well into tlie stretch. Fiat ran well and finished gamely. Judge Denton was pulled up on the far turn.
