CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE GREAT FILLY STAKES. Tile Great Filly Stakes is one of the most important events of each recurring year for two-year-old fillies and promises to furnish a highly interesting and well contested race this afternoon, one over which the shrewdest judges of form might ca:-ily go astray, so well matched are the carded contestants. Since its institution this race has always been won by a high-class performer, except last year, when it fell to the rather moderate Killaloe. Its other winners, Blue Girl, Girdle, Beldame, Artful and Running Water, were all stars, it being doubtful if Artful ever had an equal in this country. The record of the race is as follows: Year.
