CONDENSED HISTORY OF THE FLATBUSH STAKES. The twenty-fourth running of the Flatbnsh Stakes will occur at Sheepsliead Bay this afternoon. The event has been run annual- since the first year of the Coney Island Jockey Clubs tenancy of its commodious Sheepshcad Bay plant and, being at seven furlongs, calls for ability to stay as well as speed. Beginning with the splendid Mortenier filly Wanda, it has nearly always fallen to a high-class racer, Sir Dixon, Salvator, Potomac, Senator Grady, Lissak, Requital, Ornament, Previous, Lieutenant Gibson, Irish Lad, Highball and Tradition all proving famous race horses subsequent to their two-year-old form.
