Sheriff Williams loomed up menacingly an the backstreteh when -beginning -the last half, hut thiit unexpectedly and his race should be thrown out. Dick Shaw fell at the third jump and was leading at the time. Oriflamb ran prominently to tlie last turn and bolted to the extreme outside, then finished well. .Jane Swift finished -veil up. Glaucus tired after going a fast half and finished pinned into the rail. Annoyance got away poorly and was handicapped by the mud. Tea Leaf failed to stay after showing superior speed.
