THREE NEW RECORDS AT HAMILTON. Hamilton, Ont., October 3. M. J. Daly was very much in the limelight at Hamilton this afternoon. Three of the seven caine from the stable that he is handling here, and two of them, Salvage and Kara, carried the famous peacock blue and black sash of the Hartford turfman. Emma G., which, won the fifth race, is also in the Daly stable, but runs under the name of J. F. Hynes. J. Carroll, the regular stable jockey, had the mount on both Salvage and Emma G., while Kara was ridden by Masnada, the Italian steeplechase rider, who has made a great record on the Canadian circuit this fall. Tlie steeplechase, by the way, was a -very rough race, McClain on Buckman fouling Masanada several times during the running. He repeatedly bumped Kara, and at the different turns carried him wide. Kara was so much the best, however, that after a strenuous trip he wo going away in tlie stretch run by three lengths, in a new track record. McClain was called into the stand after the race and given to understand that a repetition of the sort of a ride he put up today would geL :t him into trouble. Ballycastle, one of tlie outsiders, fell heavily at the eighth jump, and rolled over his rider, Walsh. The latter was stunned, but in a few minutes got on his feet and walked awaj. His escape from death was miraculous. Salvage had to hang up a new track record to win the opening event. The five, and a half furlongs were run in 1:00, which was three-fifths of a second faster than Governor Orman ran the distance last year. Avaunteer, which won the fourth race, also ran the live and a half furlongs in 1:005, which equalled Salrages time in the opening event. Avaunteer was pounds, tlie best of his field and won in a canter. E. A. Stringer will ship his stable to Jamaica at the close of tlie meeting. Edward Trotters strlng left for Windsor tonight, and the Valley Farm Stable will leave for the same point in the morning.
