Salvage, a good horse today, followed Belle Strome closely to the stretch turn, where he moved, up and, dashing to the front in the last furlong, won going away. Belle Strome set a fast early pace, but could never get away from Salvage and quit when the latter challenged. Euripides finished driving hard to stall off Ballot Box. The latter finished fast. J. Suderman broke slowly and was outrun to the stretch turn, where lie slipped through on the inside, finished gamely under punishment and, wearing Padrone down, outstayed him in the final drive. Padrone took the lead quickly and set a fast pace for five furlongs, but was tiring at the end. Frescatl. badly outrun for the lirst half, finished with a great stretch run and was wearing the leaders down at the end. Giles ran well to the stretch and quit. Scratched 71033 Ilandmaur, 105. Kaia was waited with through the first turn of the field, moved up in the second time around and, after suffering from repeated interference from Buckman, shook off the latter in the stretch run and won going away, but grabbed his quarter in the race and pulled up lanie. Buckman was hard ridden in the last half mile, but lost ground in carrying Kara wide on every turn. Coal Black Lady is a good fencer, but tired after going a mile and a half. Ballycastle fell at the eighth Jump and Merrymaker ran out at the ninth. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid. Scratched 712132Lester L.
