Hasty Agne, well ridden and away fast, raced in close pursuit of Vasanta to the stretch turn, where she took the lead, but had to be hard ridden at the end to stall off Divorcee. The latter gained steadily and was going fastest at the end. Vasanta, after showing the most early speed, tried to run out and barelv lasted long enough to save third place. Darling Dan, away in a tangle, came fast near the end and would have been third in another stride. Snake Mary had no mishaps. Inspect ran fairly well. Won easily; second driving; third the same. Belle Scott, well ridden, ran in suddenly improved form, was sent into a long lead at once and, racing the others into defeat in the lirst three-quarters, only had to canter through the stretch. My Queen of the Roses, showing improvement, was a close contender in the early stages, but tired in the stretch. Blaze iLight, probablv much the best, was off poorly and shuIUfd far back in the first three-quarters, then c-ame with a great burst of sneed in the last furlong and wore the others down for third place. Sister Polly closed up a big gap in the last quarter and ran a good race. Caper quit after going a half. The winner was entered for 00; no bid. AVon easily; second driving; third the same. llHrting, running to his best form, awav fast and well ridden, was waited with until rounding the streten turn, where he saved considerable ground and, after a slight shaking up, won going away. Ben Strong forced a fast pace from the start and raced Toboggan into defeat, but tired near the end and had to do his best to retain second place from the fast coming Miss Paddcn. The latter put up a good performance. Toboggan showed a good flight of speed, but tired as if short. Nellie Racine was gaining and going well at the end. Merrick ran fairly well. Clifton Forge appeared well bodily, but trailed far back and will improve. The winner waentered for 00; no bid. Scratched 71127 Black Fox, 109; 711S0 Belle of Penzance, 101. Carew was forced to be taken back slightly after the start, hut moved around on the outside after go ng three furlongs and, taking the lead, sharply impeded Prytania and Beau Brummel, the latter suflering most, then dashed into a long lead and won well in hand. Beau Brummel rallied quickly after his mishap and, continuing to gain, stayed well in the final drive and outstayed Monsignor. The latter swerved at the start and fell back many lengths behind the others, then closed a big gap and, finishing with a rush, would have been second in a few more strides. Bottles ran .sluggishly and appeared to be bearing our. Prytania ran a good half before tiring. Scratched 711872Convolo, 114. Overweights Carew. Burt broke fast and showed much the most speed and, except for contention in the first quarter from Bender, always held the race safe and won in a canter. Cloyne appeared badly beaten on the streten turn, but finished fast and gamely and wore Balla down in the closing stride for second place.. Jialla ran a jrood race, but tired unexpectedly in the last few strides. Hans was a trailer for the first half and then moved up gamely. Rebel Queen ran poorly and can do better. Hammeraway, showing vast improvement, moved up steadily lit the stretch rim and. finishing gamely, was easily best of the others. Bitter Brown, unexpectedly showing improvement under poor riding, came fast near the end and landed third place under a hard drive. Tren-ol:, away in a tangle, steadily improved his position and, with better luck, would have been much closer up. First Mason showed a brief flash of speed. It was Impossible to distinguish colors with accuracy at the three-quarters and in the stretch on account of darkness. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
