LOS ASGELES TRACK PLANS. ALL THE OFFICIALS HAVE AN IMPORTANT CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO. Agree Upon the Executive Staff for Arcadia Meeting, Which Is To Begin Thanksgiving Day at Santa Anita, Cal. There was a railier important conference of horsemen at the Auditorium Annex yesterday afternoon In which matters or importance relating to the New Los Angeles Jockey Club were settled. Tliose at tlie conference were George Rose of Los Angeles. Barney Schreiber of Bridgoton, Mo., Colonel A. W. Ilamiltoii of .Mount Sterling, Ky., and Dr. .T. S. Gardner or Kansas City. These are the principal owners, presiding judge, and manager of the new Arcadia racing property at Santa Anita, Cal., to he operated by the newly organized New Los Angeles Jockey Club. At the conference the appointment of the following otlicials was continued: Presiding judge A. W. Hamilton. Associate judge Francis Trevelyan. Secretary -J. Lvman Davis. Malinger- -Dr. J. S. C-ardner. Manager of ring Eugene Elrod. "The stake list or the new track as .published in Daily Racing Form or September 25 is correct." saTd .Mr. Itose, who arrived from Los Angeles at 4 oclock, three hours late from the west, and left for New York at 5 p. m. i.arney Schreiber came? from St. Louis anil left with .Mr. Klrod for Cincinnati last night. Colonel Hamilton stays here, lie lias become almost a confirmed Chieagoaii. Dr. Gardner, after whom Tim Sullivans great horse was named, went to Kansas City. He will go to Los Angeles at once to take up his new duties. Lyman Davis, who was to have been at the conference, is in the woods fishing, and could not he reached by the telegram to call him here. lie will nerve, though. Joe Murphy was offered, hut declined, the associate judgeship. He would preside or not serve at all. Neither J. W. Itrooks. Clem reveling nor 11. D. Brown will have anything to do with the new track. It is a certainty that them will bo no more racings at Ascot Park. It is doomed. Much of its material will bo used in building the new course. Contractor Allen has a horde of workmen busy, and promises the track for a Thanksgiving Day opening. "Lucky" Baldwin will be the nominal president and a stockholder. Itarney Schreiber and George Rose will hold the bulk of the stock. Jack Atkin will represent Sclireilier. The plant will cost 50,000 with the land, 175 acres, which was bought outright for 00,000 and is a sweet future real estate proposition in itself. When completed according to the plans, the Arcadia course will he a thoroughly up-to-date racing plant in every way, with stabling for 3,000 horses and sealing capacity for 32,000 people.
