Young Stevens ilHshed into the Ii-ad after going around the others on tlie lower turn, but tired when challenged and barely lasted long enough to retain second place. Stellaland closed a big gap in tlie last quarter and was fcoing fast at the end. .Malta finished fast. Jim Renttie forced the early running, but tired after going a hair. Stanley Fay broke fast and had a slight advantage at the start, but was outrun by Centre Shot for the 1rst half, then moved up gamely in the stretch and, keeping Centre Shot close to the inner rail, outstayed thu latter. Centre Shot was best, hut was poorly ridden and slightly impeded in the last furlong by the winner. Rustle, in the worst going all the way, ran a good race and will improve. Laura Clay had no mishaps. Frontenac ran poorly aud can do better. Donna Elvira seemingly disliked the going. Miltiades, palpably out of racing condition, will show smart improvement. -I O ! Inauguration quit after showing tlie most speed for a half. Catherine F., away in a tangle, ran fairly well and finished gamely. Sabado ran poorly. The others were always outpaced.
