Denial broke slowly and ran on the outside all the way, wore Sombrita down in tlie last furlong and had stUiCthing left to stall off Andalusia. The hitter, as good as left at the post, closed a big gap and finished with a rush. Magenta ran well and outstayed Sombrita in the iinal drive. The latter was speedv, but "was ridden all over tb: track. Culture was pulled up on the far turn and swerved to the outside when nlering the homestretch. Meadowgreen was standing Hatfooted when the barrier was sprung. The winner was entered for S500; no hid.
